The first Team 15 event at Notts County was a huge success with over 20 competitors taking part from those who could just windsurf to Zone squad members. All enjoyed the sun and light winds.

Notts County took the runners up spot, providing a huge range of windsurfing talent, with zone squad members Paddy & Ollie Joyce & Tom Farmer being beaten by older more experienced windsurfers. They still finished 3rd to 5th overall.

The 3.5 sq m class saw Notts County finish second overall.

The first Team 15 windsurfing interclub event for 2002 was held at Notts County Sailing Club attracting competitiors from around the region. The event co-incided with the club's Jubilee Regatta.

With over twenty entries from half from the home club and the remainder from Bosworth & Carsington, the event was judged a huge success. The accent was on fun, with some more serious racing interspersed with the bouncy castle, paddling races and freestyle.

Bosworth won the Team prize, coming first, second and sixth in the 5.5 sq m class, run round a triangular course off the club house. Notts County was second with 3rd to 5th place.

The under 3.5 sq m class was raced off the bank and round a bouy, Although Tom from Notts County won two races it was Daisy Brooks from Carsington who took the overall prizes. Harry Brooks from Carsington was third.

Notts County Sailing Club is part of a National Team 15 initative for young windsurfers.

The club obtained Team 15 status last year and already has three youngsters in the North Zone squad. Notts County Team 15 night is Wednesdays.
