Nearly twenty flying fifteen dinghies arrived at Notts County Sailing Club for the annual Flying 15 Open meeting. The keelboats always provide close tactical sailing, often for the not so young (indeed there where a number of sailors well beyond pension able age on the water), and the young, as they are a lively boat in a strong wind.

The light winds provided some very close racing, except for Andy Goddard, who found the wind first in the first race on Saturday and led by a good margin, with Alex Piggott second & Pete Walters & John Allen third.

The next race saw Pete Walters & John Allen win from the home club. Visitors came from all over the country including Tees, Dovestone (Yorkshire), Humber, and Northampton.

Sunday again saw very light winds from the north and some sunshine, the tricky conditions gave some very close racing, David McKee winning a race as did Alex Piggott. Only 1 point separated the top three, and the third place was only decided on discard. In the event David McKee and Andrew Farmer won with a forth, second, third and first to count.
