On the 17th September 2003 a group of youngsters from Chernovyl visited the club as part of a trip organisede by the Lions organised trip.

They all live in a village about 10 miles from Chernovyl, Belaruse, and have come to spend a month in Bottesford staying with families, attending school during the morning and doing various activities in the afternoon.

Twenty or so club members provided them with an afternoon's entertainment which they will never forget, drives in a RIB, sailing in a Stratos and a Topper and a trip in the Stoke Ferry.

This is one of the projects that the Lions organise and raise funds for during the year.

It was an afternoon that i won't forget in a hurry, the smiles and laughter of these disadvantaged children will remain with me for a long time.
