The Easter course has been taking place for a number of years but I think it is fair to say this was the largest to date. When I went down on Wednesday lunch there where dozens of adults instructing and helping out, every club boat was in use, 6 Oppies for the very youngest, 12 Toppers (including Education), 405s, and many other boats.

Teaching ranged from beginners through to Race Training, with lots of smiles and concentration. During the four days of the course provided lots of variety in conditions.

Thanks to all who helped the youngsters who are the future of the club and the sport, and it's great to see so many enjoying it.

I've just recently (yesterday) finished the club Sailing course. I completed my red badge. I know that everyone had a graet time and benifited from it !
Including some instructors!!! with 40 kids it was the largest course yet and Glynn Myatt and Bob Tuckwood had there work cut out!!!
everything went smoothly and everybody enjoyed it - Nicola Ogden

Red Racing badge course Easter April 2003

The weather was good for the start of the week with sunshine but got worst with rain as the week when on, we could have hoped for more wind as well!

Seven people took part which were Myself, Nicola Ogden, Hannah May, Katherine Twemlow, Tom Jennings, Paul Smith and Robert Smith. We were all hoping to improve our racing skills for the coming season.

Ken Twemlow and Tom McEvoy the two coaches gave us the benefit of their experience and helped us understand racing rules, race starts and tactics. We all felt we learnt a lot and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. And hope to do White badge next year.
