Kevin Hope & Rob Gardner from Notts County Sailing Club won the fireball Nationals finishing on 10th August at Paignton.

The where 72 Fireballs entered and competition was very close, Kevin only winning by 3 points from Grahame Newton of Staunton Harold, in 4th place were club members Andrew Smith & James Meldrum. After Andrew & James's win in the Europeans a few weeks ago Notts County has had some great results in the Fireballs.

The event was plagued by light winds, with only 5 of the ten scheduled races being sailed. Whilst waiting for one race Frisbies where used from boat to boat to while away the time waiting for the wind.

Kevin got a 2nd,3rd,15th & 2no 7ths to win the National trophy four of the five races sailed counted. For full race by race account see Yachts & Yachting web site.
