Over forty craft arrived at Notts County Sailing Club for the Laser and single handed regatta, forming a fleet of Lasers about thirty strong, with seven Phantoms and a handicap single handed fleet.

The light and very shifty wind, not only taxed the Race Officer but provided for some interesting sailing. Getting the shifts right, especially on approaching the mark, was crucial to be up with the leaders. Michael Sims from Carsington showed the Laser fleet the way round, winning all three races by a good margin and never really looking troubled. Second was the home club sailor Mike Lowe with seconds in all races. Jonathan Lye , new to the Laser fleet, started the series well but was just beaten to third place by Andrew Wilde of Ogston.

The Phantom Open saw Andrew Elliott of Rotherham win all races from Colin Barrie and Chris Whiteley.

The Handicap single-handers saw Bob Seagrave win in a Contender followed by two Junior sailors in Toppers, Rebecca Kilburn and Sophie Tuckwood.
