Sixty boats came from as far afield as Sidmouth, Pennine, Queen Mary & Castle Cove for the Scorpion Inland championships, held at Notts County Sailing Club.

The fleet was so large it had to be split into two fleets after the first three races, into the Gold & Silver fleet. After Saturday's racing in light wind and sunshine David Woodhead & Jerry Hannubus of Elton SC led with a win & second to count, Alan Taylor & Tim Parsons were second, and John & Joyce Henderson third.

The wind swung and increased to a light to moderate breeze on Sunday with some quite strong gusts by the afternoon. The starts where intense with several general recalls. David Woodhead was second and forth and with such a competitive fleet this was enough to win the meeting. David Wade from Northampton won one race and Notts County sailor Nigel Potter the other in the gold fleets, giving them second & third respectively.

Junior Helm was Ffion Jones Port Dinorwic, Junior Crew was Georgina Hicks Queen Mary and the Junior Combo was John and Andrew Rose Chew Valley.

Results: Gold: 1st Dave Woodhead & Jerry Hannabus (Elton), 2nd Dave Wade & Ollie Wells (Northampton), 3rd Nigel Potter and Simon Hibbert (Notts County, 4th Matt Potter & Oliver Whitehead (Notts County/ Pennine), 5th Roger & Clare Wood (Notts County)
