Proceeds in aid of- OESOPHAGEAL CANCER

fees - programme - entry form

Many of you will know Club Member Andrew Cooney and enjoyed meeting him again as our guest-of-honour in February at our Dinner Dance.

Following his record-breaking walk to the South Pole in aid of Oesophageal Cancer, this year the Club is holding its traditional spring regatta in aid of the charity.

The Regatta is aimed primarily at providing family entertainment whilst catering for the racing sailors in the form of the Commodore's Cup and Class racing.

Campers and caravaners are welcome to come and choose their 'pitch' from Friday evening, May 23rd, when an informal 'DIY' Bar-be-que will be held. (Bring your own food)

There will be entertainment, including food, on both Saturday and Sunday evenings with a live band and disco. Throughout the weekend competitions and organised events will be taking place.

'Baywatch' is the place for the youngsters (and probably some of the 'wrinklies' as well!) where many on-the-water supervised activities are planned. You are welcome to use this area at other times as well but please note it will not be supervised and parents will be responsible for their children.

Racing- These events are classified as 'Open Events' and will be sailed according to the open meeting sailing instructions. 2 out of 3 races to count for each series.

The Sunday Class race will also count towards the club series. Cruising is welcomed but sailors are asked to stay in the designated area at the southern end of the lake whilst the Commodore's Cup and Class racing are taking place.

Food and drinks will be available from the galley throughout the weekend and drinks from the bar, during permitted hours. In order to assist in the catering, a discount of £5 (£2.50 Single-handers) is available on the 'whole event' tickets if paid for in advance. (available from the bar prior to the event.)
