Notts County Spring Regatta

The three day spring regatta open event over bank holiday at Notts County Sailing Club was a huge success with visitors from a number of clubs around the East Midlands and Basingstoke (Hamps) , and some great weather and a pleasant breeze.

There are three class races, which provide class results, but the key event is the Commodore's Cup handicap series, which also has three races over three days.

There where nearly seventy boats entered seven where in the Junior Class, but the majority where in the slower handicap with over forty entries.

Saturday saw overcast conditions and a light shifty wind Martin Stott of the Commodore of Notts County in a Flying 15 won the fast handicap, Patrick Ford the Juniors in an Optimist and Tim Gray the slow handicap.

Sunday was brighter with sunshine and at times a good force 3 breeze, John Sears won the fast handicap, Richard Mason the slow and Julie & Emily Hall the Junior.

The Monday racing was held in lighter and shifty conditions, but it was warm and sunny John Sears & Richard Mason won their respective fleets overall to take the prizes.
