About 35 Chernobyl youngsters and 15 host children along with those of club helpers joined almost as many helpers from the club, most of whom had taken a days leave to help out.

We convened at the club at 10..30 for briefing and a bacon butty and tea, thanks to Paulene. At just after noon the first cars turned up and by 12.20 everyone had arrived and the boss (Alias Stuart) introduced the club through an interpreter. Ian Firth provided some safety tips then after a group photo it was off to Activities.

Goes on Stoke Ferry/powerboating, Topper & Oppie sailing, Stratos sailing & windsurfing were on offer and all the youngsters had the opportunity to try each - the smiles on the photos show the reaction.

It was a a lrage logistic operation, and shows we are second choice after Centre Park for all the youngsters, thanks to everyone who gave up time there is no doubt it was much appreatiated.
