Sunshine and a gentle breeze welcomed six visitors from all over the UK and five local boats for the Notts County National 12 open meeting. A reaching course was set for the first race which saw Ian & Alex Gore from Upriver led all the way, Kevin Iles and Jane Wade from Thorpe Bay sailed clear of the rest of the fleet for second place. Behind the leading two places change with Nigel & Hannah May coming through to third after a three boat pile up at the bottom mark.

After lunch the wind built to force three Nigel & Hannah May lead at the first mark closely followed by Ian & Alex Gore who passed them down the first reach they increased their lead through the race to win by a good margin, so winning the Open Meeting. Mike Cooke & Helen Hunt followed by David Wilkins & Leslie Iles pulled through to take second and third.

The third race saw the wind built further, with four gybe marks there were a number capsizes and retirements. Ian & Alex completed a clean sweep with a third win, Kevin & Jane sailed well for second place and first Admiral Cup Boat. The home club saw Mike Cook & Helan Hunt from Notts County finish in third.
