A few enterprises competed in the open this year, those that didn't make missed out on a superb days sailing, a little windy for some including Steve our class rep, but at east he had a go, along with the Commodore. We were outclassed by the visitor who was the only one not to capsize. Here aqre a few photos of the event. (PS windsurfers enjoyed the day to - see another page) Full Report | ![]() |

Notts
County Sailing Club held this Enterprise Double Chine Series Open Meeting sponsored
by Speed Sails on Saturday 14th May. Due to the weather forecast and other events
only four home boats and one visitor ventured out for the first race. With
the wind at force 5 gusting 6 the race officer set a figure of eight course covering
the whole lake. Martin Bottomley/Jonathan Woodward of Emberton Park Sailing Club
led at the windward mark closely followed by Bob Tuckwood and George Stanton.
Unfortunately for Bob/George they capsized at the first gybe mark. The demanding
wind took its toll and fleet captain Steve Lord crewed by Keston Challen, a novice,
tested the boats buoyancy with a capsize. There were three retirements, Martin
and Jon took line honours with Bob and George second. After an excellent lunch and the wind abating slightly four intrepid crews ventured to the line for race 2. After a long beat up the lake Martin and Jon led from Bob and George and the positions did not change. Race 3 was back to back with race 2 and with the wind still strong Bob and George chased Martin and Jon all the way. An exciting battle took place for third place between Stuart Poole / Jo Wilde just edging out the Adam Bellamy and Steve Lord. What a great day's sailing. What more could you want? Sun, wind, white horses, hard beats and screaming reaches. Well done to Notts County Sailing Club, the OOD and the rescue crews. Overall
