Notts County Sailing Club held its fifth Access open meeting over the weekend. Fifteen competitors arrived from all over the country for the four race open meeting there are two types of dinghy, the Access 303 for double handers and the Access 2.3 for single handers. The Access dinghy is specifically designed for disabled and wheelchair bound sailors, and competition is every bit as close as in normal dinghies, the manoeuvrability of the dinghies meaning there is very close contact sailing. The largest entry was in the single handers, with ten boats. The light to moderate and gusty wind was swinging in the gusts made for some tactical sailing. The 2.3 class saw Robin Pinny from Woolverstone winning every race with John Coombes from Rutland second with a win second & third, third overall was Joyce Smith also from Rutland. The Two hander 303 class Saw Sam Honour & John Hartill from Woolverstone first with three firsts, and the Liberty fleet saw Simon Harle win.
