The May Bank holiday regatta saw over 80 boats entering the Regatta, with over 200 tickets sold on Saturday night, so we can safely estimate about 250 or 300 club members participated in the weekend. Friday evening started with a BBQ and presparations including haul the dance floor (we set it up in the wrong position). The odd pint and bottle of wine was consumed, Saturday was overcast but there was some wind, and racing for non class boats started at 11am, shortly after which the main class racing took place with a break for lunch and the Commodore's Cup, and a Junior Race after. The evening saw a salad prepared by members and a band in the marque. The drining went onto the early hours for the few.

The first race was a non class race, allowing complete families to sail, and youngsters to sail with parents, his was followed by Class Racing for individual dinghy classes and the Commodore's Cup which was split into fast & slow Handicap & windsurfers. Finally a Junior Series was held over the three days. The emphasis is on a family weekend, with plenty of social activity as well as racing and sailing and just enjoying the water.

Saturday saw light winds with an overcast sky, whilst Sunday saw a little more sunshine and wind and Monday was blustery with a couple of squalls and sunshine and showers. There was close racing in many of the fleets and of particular note was Tim Cripps in the Laser who was also second in the Commodore's Cup (slow), Richard & Sarah Mason who won the Scorpion class & slow handicap in the Commodore's Cup. Will Gardner & Sam Parker won the fast Handicap in the Commodore's Cup, with Andy Wood & Ali McInnes second in a 29er. The Junior racing was won by Andrew Kilburn in an Optimist. The Windsurfers saw Ian Pilkington dominate, even with a inflatable Whale on the front of his board in the Commodore's Cup.
