Tickets are
available from behind the bar and at busy times we aim to have a member of the
Regatta committee selling tickets. The format is very similar to last year, with
an added series to encourage family and novice racing. The Regatta is a family
and social event whilst maintaining the serious racing bias of the club. To
this end we have the Class Race and Commodore's Cup run to normal class rules,
and the new 'Regatta Cup'. This has been included for family and novice racers
with a fun element. There will be prizes for, amongst the following: largest family
in a boat highest combined age best dressed racers usual crew and helm to swap
oldest boat biggest age difference etc!!
The
other racing rules will apply- please see the Notice of Race. We are looking to
run specific children's racing for age 13 and under, and there will be a children's
boat building competition race. Also, every child taking part in the Commodore's
Cup will receive a £10 voucher for Morton Boats. There
is live music on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights and 'Winter Wilson' encourage
anyone who wishes to have an impromptu 'jam' session to bring their instrument
along and join in. The
daily price for entertainment and a meal is £7 (no sailing) and if you are stopping
down just to listen to the band, we would ask for a contribution of £5 per adult,
children free- this is towards the cost of the bands, marquee and the event. Please
remember that the whole event is organised and run by members of the club- if
you feel you can help out in any way over the weekend, please do, as any offers
of help will be gratefully received! Please note that the Regatta Series Racing
does not count towards the overall Class and Handicap Racing Result. It is a one-off
event. |
