Notts County Success at Junior Open - Slideshow of photos

Over twenty youngsters took part in the Nottinghamshire County Sailing Club Junior & 405 open over the weekend. Notts County member Rob Norris won the laser fleet, whilst Lawrence Logan was the first Topper. The 405 saw the visitors beat the Notts County sailors, many of whom had only been sailing the 405 a short while. James Briggs & John Whelton from Banbury won.

Light winds greeted the twenty four competitors in the Junior & 405 meeting at Notts County Sailing Club. The Race Officer had difficulty setting a course in the fickle wind meaning the beat often became one sided half way through a lap. As a result there was plenty of place changing especially in the 405 fleet. The Junior fleet was led in every race by Rob Norris in his Laser, second place was much more closely fought with Katherine Twemlow & Rachael Odgen swapping results, Rachael having the better consistency and winning. The Topper fleet was won by ten year old Lawrence Logan with a good set of results. Amy Robinson was next Topper, followed by Peter Anderson.
