MISSION To develop focussed race training for junior sailors from NCSC across a number of classes to enable them to participate more fully at a regional and national level Notes from meeting on Sun 13th April A kick off meeting was held at the club.

James introduced the scope of the squad and Stuart went though some aspects of the training to be done. We now have 21 juniors showing an interest, with the majority having their own Toppers to sail.

The Tuesday eve format is to be a 30 - 45 focussed session, commencing around 6 pm and leading into the regular Tues race. Tim Cripps will lead the training.

On Saturdays a longer, around 1 hour, session commencing at 12.30 will take place. Alison Goodall will lead the training. We will support juniors going to some local events - a diary of Topper ones was handed out and we will be discussing these as we go through the course.

It was agreed to carry out a straight 6 week session in the first instance, starting on Tues 6th May, with Bank hols Saturdays not being included.

The NSSA event at the start of the summer hols, 21-25 Jul, was also raised, with people being asked to consider whether they would be interested. More details on this will be sent out and posted in the club house in due course. So, lots of interest and a programme now established.

Please get ready for some serious work on those sailing techniques. More details on the course contents will follow in further communications.

Have fun! James Logan
