Changes to racing 2010
Fast Handicap.. The Fast Fleet will include the Fin and all boats Scorpion and faster.
The Scorpion Flag will be the fast fleet flag.
The Handicap Flag will be used for Slow Handicap Starts and when there is only one handicap start.
Flag Numeral 6, will still be used for junior starts.
Changes in 2010.
The 2009 Frostbite Series saw a number of Pursuit Races cancelled either through excessive or lack of wind.
The wind strength has often not settled in the early morning when the Race Officer has to decide on which type of race to run.
The Sailing Committee have therefore decided to run the morning early and winter series races as average lap handicap races with the option of running a pursuit race in the afternoon.
It is not possible to shorten a pursuit race once the start sequence is initiated and as the pursuit race is often held in adverse weather conditions it has been decided to shorten it to 60 pursuit.
Remember to take a note of your new pursuit start time.
Class Starting Order. The first dinghy start will be a combined start of RS400’s and Fireballs followed by the Menagerie.
The Flying 15’s have moved into the Menagerie and the Solo’s have been given a separate start (Green Flag) and will start after the Enterprise Fleet.
