At last! 31st March saw wind come through in the form of 40 mph gusts, the water spray wipping off the water in the gusts, as two birthday boys (Russ M & Mike M - left below) enjoyed 4.7m weather. It wasn't easy and I am not sure anyone got right the way accross in the early afternoon without a splash, either lack of or too much wind, still it was warm and Dean looks as though he has beaten Mike for the March first place in the speed series on the last day. (Mike had held the lead since 10th March). Later on the photo to the left was used as the weather picture on East Midlands Today.

Needless to say the summer winers carried on preparing for the dinghy course, rather than venture out in such extreme conditions. Thanks for getting the boat out Ian - just in case.
