Cake by the Lake was a great success again thanks to all who baked and helped, amount raised was a superb £390 well done all.
The Villagers Day was also highly succesful with 25 local families and residents signing in for a sail, and enjoying the club.
To cap it all the windsurfers enjoyed high winds and some great if gusty sailing, even the water seems to be warming up at last, as quite a few dinghy sailors discovered as well! Link to Photos of windsurfing.
We raised £330.00 over Saturday afternoon and a little part of Sunday. Considering the weather was so horrid, I was really pleased with that amount, even though I think it was a little down from last year.
I wanted to say a big thank you to everyone at the club. I found it overwhelming with just how many people had taken the time and effort to make such amazingly tasty and some extremely colourful cakes! We had a surprising number of cakes donated by the visitors too which was not expected but much appreciated.
I particularly wanted to thank Pauline for producing and donating, once again, her wonderful scones - I have never seen scones that size before, or with so much packed in them - needless to say they disappeared almost as soon as they were put out! I also wanted to thank Paul Brown our accountant, who owns Sweet Success. As, despite not being around for the actual day, he generously donated a large amount of his cakes for our cause, and lastly, I can't miss out Adrian and Viv Jones' daughter who baked the largest fairy cake I have ever seen - it was magnificent.
Once again, a really big thank you to everyone who baked a cake and kindly donated it to Sail4Cancer, we had a lovely afternoon sampling your wonderful creations! The money will be sent by cheque to them for which I am sure they will be very grateful of.
