| NOTTS COUNTY SC ACCOMMODATION LIST (compiled Dec 2005) We have done our best to identify Hotels and B&Bs near to the sailing club. The list is not comprehensive and we may have got details wrong. Southwell is a pretty, small market town just three miles from the club. The Norman Minster and the buildings around it are all very beautiful. During the Civil War Charles I is said to have given himself up at the Saracen's Head Hotel (but actually it was a couple of miles away). All the other places mentioned are tiny villages, or isolated farms. Lowdham, Burton Joyce, Gunthorpe, East Bridgford, Thurgaton, Bleasby are all within a few miles of the club.
