200,000 sailors can’t be wrong!

The 200,000th Laser will be produced this year making it the undisputed best selling dinghy in the world. Although the Laser is a strict one design boat it has three different rig sizes. The choice of rigs and its relatively cheap cost makes the boat accessible to just about everyone.

The Laser remains an Olympic class boat and will be raced by some of the best helms in the world at the 2012 Olympics in Weymouth. Although a thoroughbred racer, the laser is also a great boat to mess about in. You will see them on the beach almost anywhere in the world.

With over 100 boats at Notts County, the Laser is easily the largest fleet in the club. With this many boats a large turnout on race days is guaranteed and racing is competitive and exciting. With so many Laser helms around there is a wealth of experience on hand to provide help and advice with all aspects of rigging, sailing and racing, you only have to ask!

We try to provide Laser training each year and this year is no exception, with days for novices, ladies and more experienced sailors. Details of training can be found on the noticeboard and in the monthly newsletter “Laser Beam”. If you are not getting the e-mails please send me your address and I will add you to the mailing list.

There is a club Laser for anyone wanting to give it a go, again please contact me to arrange a session.
