RS 400

The RS400 is an easy to sail and easy to maintain high performance sailing dinghy with assymetric spinnaker. Despite it's undoubted performance (as the fastest fleet boat at NCSC), it is well mannered and can be effectively de-powered for the strongest winds.

We have a very active fleet with consistently strong turnouts in both fleet and handicap series, regular fleet news letters and social events. 400 sailors are a friendly bunch and always ready to welcome new members into the fleet and to offer tips and advice on boat tuning and handling. The fleet continues to grow and this year we are again welcoming more new members.

We encourage crews and helms to swap boats and sail with different partners when possible. It's proved a great way to build friendships, share skills and promote close and competitive racing.

In September we host the final Open Event of the RS400 Northern Series. This very popular event attracted the most competitors outside the Nationals. It's a great weekend and provides a good test racing against the best 400 sailors in the country.
