1 BERTHING
Dinghies and boards may be stored at the club only after the appropriate fee has been paid to the Membership Secretary who will issue a current berthing sticker. This must be displayed on the rail to the rear of the boat space and attached to the left hand side of the space. If members change a boat or board during the season they must notify the Boat Park Manager and obtain a new sticker. Craft without an allocated berth must be removed from the club premises at the end of each days sailing. No craft other than dinghies or boards may be stored at the club and members may only store one craft in their allocated berth. Owners are responsible for ensuring their boats/boards are properly tied down.
2 PERSONAL BUOYANCY
No person is allowed on the water in or on any craft without adequate personal buoyancy. This personal buoyancy shall be at least a waistcoat type buoyancy aid appropriate to body weight and in good condition, except in the case of adult Windsurfers (i.e.: over 18 years old) wearing a torso or full body wet suit who may choose not to wear a buoyancy aid at their own risk. Anyone not complying with this requirement will be required to leave the water. Persons racing and not complying with this requirement will be disqualified. Parents are strongly advised to ensure that young children wear adequate personal buoyancy if playing near the water edge.
3 SAFETY CRAFT
Safety craft are available at all times during the season, but are only manned during club racing (when the club flag is flying) or other organised periods. ALL adult members should be familiar with the use of the safety boats and equipment and safety procedures in case they are called upon to undertake a safety duty or during an emergency. Regular training sessions will be run throughout the year for this purpose. Those under 14 are not allowed in the boats, except when being rescued or as part of a training exercise and those under 18 may not drive a safety boat (unless authorised by the Sailing Committee). Priority will be given to rescuing people and not boats.
