The Laser fleet at NCSC has existed since 1987 and thrives on the club water which is a deep 180 acre gravel pit; large enough to be testing in a blow without being too intimidating.
The 2007 season sees over 100 Lasers registered at the club. There has recently been a significant number of junior and lady helms joining us, giving the fleet a varied mix of aptitudes. The younger helms (male and female) are now beginning to push the more senior sailors and there is strength in depth throughout.
Turnouts for 2007 promise to be huge! (book your spot on the starting line early!) Class racing takes place throughout the main season on Sundays. For class racing any size rig is allowed but we all sail off the standard PY. (Helms can change rig size during the series) Handicap racing is available on Thursday evenings and Saturdays; always plenty of Lasers sailing.
The Laser open meeting for 2007 is on Sunday 1st July. All helms are encouraged to enter regardless of ability. As a fleet we are affiliated to the Laser Association. All Laser owners are encouraged to join; the membership fees are small and a discount on your insurance is given. (see link below)
Training and guidance is always available; (we now have 3 race instructors in the fleet) Please contact me for further info.
