All handicap races are average lap races, except for pursuit races.  Windsurfers may compete with dinghies in handicap races under an agreed handicap number but must not pump.  Members attending Open Meetings may apply for up to 4 qualifying points in order to complete the series.  Qualifying points must be claimed before the end of the series in person or by post to the Results Secretary.

Club Racing Junior and Youth Tuesday & Thursday Evenings Under 19 on 31st December 08.
Junior Challenge Trophy (Saturday p.m.) under 13 on 31st December 08. Sailing Topper and Slower.

Junior Open  Under 19 on date of event. To qualify for any junior trophy no person over the specified age may helm or crew in the boat.

All Handicap races Must contain a run for the PYN handicap system to work.

Sailable Races i.e. The number of races in the series the Race Officer deemed sailable depending on the wind conditions.( The lack of persons intending to start will not be considered). The number to count being rounded up if necessary.

Sunday Black & White Series
Sunday March 2nd- Sunday April 6th
1/2 the number of sailable races to count
This is a combined series, consisting of a morning Pursuit Race and an afternoon Handicap Race. In extremely windy conditions (e.g. Force 5 & over) or if the wind is less than 5 mph, the Pursuit Race may be replaced by a Handicap Race.

11:03 Pursuit Duration 75 minutes
11.20 Junior Start Duration 20-30 min

1315 or later Windsurfer Start Duration 30- 40 minutes

Sunday Main Series Class Racing

April 13th - Sunday 5th October
There are morning and afternoon class races, followed by the David Wadsworth handicap race.

11.03 Menagerie (any class of dinghy)
11.06 Fireball
11.09 Flying Fifteen
11.12 Scorpion
11.15 Laser

Afternoon race not before 13.15 with the same sequence of classes

Duration :
Menagerie, Fireball, Flying Fifteen 60 - 75 minutes
Scorpion, Laser, Enterprise 50 - 60 minutes
Windsurfer 30 - 40 minutes

Start not before 1500

15.00 Handicap (Boats containing helm or crew 16 or over).Duration 50 -60 minutes
15.03 Junior Race for those 15 and under. Duration 20-30 minutes.
15.06 Windsurfer Start. Duration 30 - 40 minutes

Saturday Racing (Stanier Trophy) & Cruising.
Saturday 12th April – Saturday 23rd August         
Stanier
& Junior Challenge Trophy.

Three average lap handicap races, open to members of any experience. The 1st start will be for both experienced and novice sailors and also for boats containing any person 16 and over.

The Sailing Committee will separate the entries into novice and experience sailors, giving results for both a novice and experience trophy.

The 2nd start is for juniors i.e under 16 on 31st December 07. AND Junior’s under 13.  i.e  12 years and under on 31st December 07. sailing boats with a PYN over 1280. Who will compete for The Junior Challenge Trophy i.e. Toppers, Mirrors or Optimist.

The 3rd start is for Windsurfers.

For race to count for qualification there must be 2 or more starters.

14.15 Handicap .Duration 20-30 minutes.
Minimum 20 minutes for leading boat

Approx 15 minutes for leading boat

2nd Race No sooner than 15 minutes after last boat to finish first race.

Saturday Club 12th April  12th July

11.00 am to 1.30 pm

Activities for NCSC Members under 18 years including:  Sailing - Fun - Expeditions - BBQ - Week End Camps - Racing – Games, the idea being to promote sailing for enjoyment.

Members are encouraged to use their own boats.  arents are to be present and are expected to help out, in whatever capicity they can. Training for safety boat use is available, and users are responsable for putting boats & equipment away after use.

Tuesday evening Introduction to Racing:
Two Handicap races -29th April to 26th August
1/3 +1 of Sailable races to count
Intended for Junior & Novice sailors.
1900 Handicap
2nd Race No sooner than 15 minutes after last boat to finish 1st race.
Duration 20-30 minutes

Wednesday Windsurfing evening:
Wednesday 16th April - Wednesday 27th August
This is a windsurfing evening with cruising, racing and training. There will be Team 15 training and competition for those under 15 years (approx.) who are interested. There will also be improver sessions and if demand is there racing for adults. Contact info@ncsc.org.uk . The bar will be open most Wednesdays and provided there are sufficent numbers food will be available - see website or contact David eberlin, Steve Payne or Russ Towns.
