2023 August Bank Holiday NCSC Games

The Notts County Games consist of fun and games on the water and onshore, nothing too serious and all ages are welcome.

Over 60 club members entered the NCSC games on August bank holiday Monday. The Commodore Martin Hart with Moira, and their daughter Rebecca and her partner Dominic headed up the games with help from Ross and Kathryn, Tim, Ian and Chris on safety and many others. The event raised £105 for the RNLI from registrations.

The Games are a light hearted event with onshore games, like throwing water bombs at the Commodore, to guessing the number of jelly/coffee beans in a jar, rowing, quoits and much more. Entrants varied from very young (4 year olds) to quite a bit older – and all had smiles on their faces.

Sunday night saw a variety of games, with the bar open and people bringing picnics, quite a few camped over. Monday started with “On the Water Wordle”, and after a pause for lunch and more onshore games. The afternoon saw a mixed water relay race with SUPs and a variety of boats, and finished with on the water tug-of-war.

Also in the clubhouse was the ever popular Sailability cake stall which raised £110 for Sailability, thanks to Anne and her team. In addition, John Davie presented Anne Clark with £500 for Sailability from money raised from Tuesday night sailors.

Thanks to Kathryn Hinsliff-Smith for photos along with David Eberlin.
