Notts County Sailing Club hosted the last event of the 2026 Aero Midland Circuit along with the club Solo Open meeting on 12th September 2026.

Competitors were met with breezy, shifty and gusty conditions with the forecast of increasing winds.

After a decision on which Aero rig was going to be used and a briefing by the race officer Ross Ryan, the fleet of fifteen set out to race.

In the Aeros: Race one was led out by Chris Larr on a 7 rig closely followed by Joe Scurrah and Hayden Moore both on 6 rigs and remained that way until the finish. Joe and Hayden pushing Chris to third on handicap. It was noted that Ari Doel on her 5 rig was in a position with the chasing 6rigs to possibly take the overall win until she ditched it on the last lap. There were plenty of other capsizes today, with some massive shifts on the gusts.

Race two was again led round by Chris, Joe and Hayden though the chasing fleet were a bit closer this time. With the final result being another win for Joe, Ari collecting a well deserved second and myself gifted a third. Hayden being U flagged.

The final race saw Hayden take the lead at the windward mark, who was later overtaken by Chris and Joe who disappeared up the road. Third was closely fought between Hayden, myself, Abigail Larr and Cillian Dyne. Hayden coming through to take it on the final lap.

Overall results.
