August Bank Holiday is traditionaly a day for a fun event. Neil Chadborn, the pirate commodore, ran the event, with Adrian and others on safety.
it was sunny with a light wind and a good atmosphere, with 20 entries formed into three teams for some light hearted treasure hunts and relay racing.
The morning’s entertainment was a Word hunt, with clues on bouys and on land . After lunch an hour long relay race was run involving, Picos, Wayfarers, SUPs, and windsurfers with a secret pirate handicap system !
There was also a tandem out providing rides.
The Jolly Rogers: Lewis, Evan, Arrow, Simon John and Penny won. Second was the Swashbucklers: Monty, William, Chris, Poppy, Jane, Hannah, Simon, Henry, Ollie and third the Buccaneers: Rheys, Viv, Laura, Holley, Tina. (Hopefully the names are right, let us know if not, they were handwritten on a faint photo !)
