Sail Gp and big boat night

Emily Hall, offered the club a talk on Sail GP and this triggered the idea of a big boat social night.

Over 40 people came down for both talks, interspersed with a nibbles and glass of wine, prepared largely by Kathryn Ryan with help from Wendy Eberlin and Emily Hall. Emily has many will know sailed at Notts County till University when she moved south to Weymouth as part of the RYA National squad, she then went on to coach and teach windsurfing and wing sailing. She enjoyed seeing old friends and the updated clubhouse before the talk, as its nearly a decade since she was last down.

The first talk of the evening was about Sail GP. Sail GP is much more sophisticated and one design than I imagined, and Emily took the audience through this exciting side of the sport, including background on boat construction, wings and controls, she has promised a code for members who may wish to go to Portsmouth this July.

If there are sufficient interest maybe we can organise a bus down on the Sunday 26th July. If you are interested in this please email info@ncsc.org.uk in the next week or so and we can investigate costs.

After a break to recharge glasses and have a bite to eat Ross Ryan introduced big boat sailing, with the links to Trent Offshore Group.

An entertaining and fascinating night.
