The Queen

It is with great sadness that we, as part of the sailing community, mourn the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. As the wife of a naval officer she was used to spending time on the water and undertook many happy voyages and holidays on the Royal Yacht Britannia.

She was steadfast in her commitment to the country and her people. She has been a real constant and touched all of our lives in one way or another. She will be sorely missed, not just by people in the UK but across the World.

Our condolences to the Royal Family. RIP Ma’am.

God save King Charles III.

Having looked at government advice we don’t feel we should cancel sailing.

We will be holding:

  • 1 min silence on Saturday 10th Sept at 1400
  • 2 minutes silence on Sunday11th Sept  at 1300.

The club flag will also be at half mast when safety is on the water until after the funeral.
