We are sorry and upset to report Pauline Windle who was our caterer for many decades has passed away this morning (1st June 2026).
She has been in hospital after a fall a few weeks ago.
Pauline came to us to run the kitchen in the 1990s and continued to provide great food, legendary roasts and of course the famous “cowpats”. She retired in 2024.
Pauline was always ready to sit and chat and pass the time after food service finished. Visitors were very complimentary about the food. She spoilt members dogs with a sausage – I remember our greyhound would hear Pauline’s voice on the balcony and get very excited.
All the members who knew her will miss her and we send Colin, Keith and the rest of the family our condolences.
