What do we offer ?

Notts County Sailing Club (NCSC), is a premier sailing facility based in the East Midlands, east of Nottingham. The Club has some excellent facilities with two attractive lakes, an extensive boat park with some covered storage facilities, a well-equipped Clubhouse with changing facilities, access facilities, training rooms, in-house catering and a bar. Do come down and see us, we know you will be impressed.

We are an accredited RYA training centre and can offer a wide range of courses for both juniors and adults. For full details of our forthcoming courses and prices click on the links below.

NCSC is predominantly a sailing and windsurfing Club and is well known for its excellent and well organised racing programme. But as a member you can enjoy all aspects of water sports including the use of other permitted craft such as Stand Up Paddleboards (SUPs), kayaks and canoes.

There is also Open Water Swimming on our small lake, run by the National Open Water Coaching Association (NOWCA) and operated by an affiliated group Love Open Water. NCSC members can benefit from swimming with Love Open Water at a reduced rate.

Membership runs from January to December each year and covers you for all water activities. We do not offer day rates, temporary membership, half year membership, SUP only or swim only membership. Our annual fees are agreed at our AGM held in November of the preceding year.

During the main sailing season (2nd Feb to 30th Sept), there is full access to the water. At other times our lease has restrictions on days that members can access the water. However, members can visit the club throughout the year – it is their club and often members use this time to meet friends, go for a walk, fix boats or prepare for the new season. The days when members can use the water can be found here

The club is run by our members – all are unpaid volunteers. The club has a friendly atmosphere and new members are encouraged to ask if they are uncertain about anything and need help on any aspect of sailing and the club.

Part of the ethos of the club is that we expect members to help run the Club and its sailing functions, regardless of the type of membership. All members who use the water (for example as a casual sailor, windsurfer, racer or SUP or other craft user) are expected to volunteer for duties as part of the sailing programme.

Duties are not as onerous as they might seem. They are a great way for you to learn and integrate into the Club and see how racing is organised. Duties (3 per person per year) cover a range of water-based support functions including: safety boat crew, race clerk or safety driver (with appropriate qualifications). In order to help members, we have developed information sheets for each of the volunteering functions. As a friendly, supportive Club please ask if you are unsure about anything. Details about duties can be found here
